A foul stench soon filled the air, so strong that it made the surrounding area feel suffocating for Lara. It was clearly the stench of death that the kid had mentioned earlier.
According to the directions, I needed to climb toward the area known as the belly of the serpent. The smell grew harsher with every step, making the environment increasingly unpleasant.
I reached a wide chamber littered with rotting corpses and ancient remains. The gruesome sights suggested that this area was once used for rituals or human sacrifices. Lara commented that the sight made her feel sick to her stomach, but there was no turning back.
