Hello beautiful foodies! Instead of plainly steaming brocolli, I prepared a dish that can compliment with rice for our lunch. This is a south Indian recipe that is full of flavor and healthy.

Before getting started, I soaked my brocolli pieces to turmeric powder & salt to get away from insects or pest, however you can skip this step, which way you like.

Ingredients:

Brocolli 1 medium
Fresh Coconut shredded 1/2 cup
Curry leaves 1sprig
Shallots 14 small pieces
Fresh turmeric 1 & 1/2 inch
Ginger 1 inch
Green chili
Mustard seed 1/2 tspn
Olive oil

Prepare ingredients, crush shallots to bring out the flavor from it.
Chopped brocolli into tiny pieces like this.

In a container mix brocolli, coconut & shallots altogether.

Heat olive oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seed, Wait to crackle.
When the mustard seeds crackles add curry leaves, green chili, ginger & turmeric saute for 2 min. Or till raw smell is gone.

Add in mixed brocolli coconut. Cook under low fire 7-8 min. Mix add salt. Do not put lid
Avoid not to overcook the brocolli to retain the vitamins in the vegetable.

Then that's it. Very easy to cook in no time.

My husband loved this dish, the combination of brocolli & coconut adding the flavor of crushed shallots gives a real South Indian side dish.
