¡Hola, familia Hive!

¿O realmente has hecho lo que has querido y soñado?

ENGLISH VERSION

Hello, Hive family! This is your friend shell975@shell975, once again drawn to the LOH Contest #311 offered by this beautiful Ladies of Hive Community to answer a few questions, this time proposed by cautiva-30@cautiva-30. I invite you to join me on this journey of reflection and leave your opinions and ideas about it.

First Question: ❓

I invite you to see yourself where you want to be, and not where others have placed you or think you ought to be. Is your life a reflection of other people’s opinions — your parents’, family’s, friends’? Or have you actually done what you’ve wanted and dreamed of?

This is a very interesting and powerful question. Looking inward about my life and questioning myself about these things, I come to the conclusion that, at least in my case, my life has not been a reflection of other people's opinions, but the result of my own decisions.

The truth is that on some occasions when things weren't going well, I would tell myself that I was in that state because I was studying and doing what my family wanted for me. But even though it was hard to admit it, that was just my justification when I felt the screws tightening and it was difficult to handle university, or even to decide to take other paths in life.

In the end, I know that my family and the people closest to me want the best for me, and that's where their expectations about what I should do often come from, but it never becomes an imposition.

The decisions are mine, and I trust that God is in control, and so I keep moving forward with the decision I made. Over time, I realized that although my family's expectations could influence me, I was the one who had to take responsibility for the decisions I made and the consequences they brought.

As for whether I have done what I wanted and dreamed of, well, sometimes yes, though not entirely, mostly because it's hard to fulfill many of those dreams hahaha. But I still haven't given up on them.

Second Question: ❔

Based on the phrase: "Identify your talent, and your purpose will reveal itself," how many times have you asked yourself why you’re here in this world, or what your purpose in life is?

Well, regarding this question, I am a Christian, and I have always had the conviction that my life is not a coincidence and that it does have a purpose — above all, to serve God and to speak to others about the gospel. I like to do many things in church according to the talents God has given me: from dancing, singing, and acting to teaching children and helping with service. I'm not super-gifted or an expert in everything, but I like to contribute my grain of sand hahaha.

As for the career I studied, medicine, I also like to help however I can. Right now I'm not practicing, but where I live the hospital is far away, so if I can help with something, that's good too.

For the rest, sharing here on Hive and in my social circle, along with the ventures we do at home, and even the new things I've been learning — I believe each of those things, however small they may seem, already fulfills its purpose in my life and in our lives. Whatever we do, we should do it with love and from the heart, not grudgingly or just to get it done.

I would summarize that great purpose of my life in love. As the Bible says:

Mt 22:37-39: "Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"
