¿O has hecho realmente lo que has querido y soñado?”

Hello ladiesofhive@ladiesofhive. I'm happy to participate in this week's contest, answering questions that made me think about my true SELF and my life aspirations.
Our friend cautiva-30@cautiva-30 invited us with the first question, which says:

  1. "I invite you to see yourself where you want to be, and not where others have placed you or think you should be. Is your life a reflection of other people's opinions (your parents, family, friends)? Or have you really done what you wanted and dreamed of?"

Anyone's life is conditioned by the environment, circumstances, and family. In my case, my mother suffered from depression and that marked me deeply; because of that, outings with friends and other ways of having fun were left in the background; my days depended on the situation at home and on taking care of my brother, who is now in another country and I miss him very much. But I always had clear that my family came before fun.

My big dreams were to graduate with a bachelor's degree and to be a mother. And I achieved both: I studied at night, I graduated with a bachelor's degree, and I became a mother twice. My daughter was born when I was 43 years old. I did not allow the situation to define me; I took what I had and built my own, even when the situation at home was critical. There were moments when I felt that life was asking more of me than I could give, but I learned to fight from the time I was 12 years old. I learned that fulfilling dreams has no age limit.

The second question, based on the phrase "Identify your talent and your purpose will be revealed," invites me to think about how many times I have asked myself why I am here in this world or what my purpose is.

Well, my talent has been to be support, to be a rock, a mainstay and pillar of my family. First in my home, working from early on to help support my brother; later, in my own family as a guide for my children. My son has already graduated from university and the other one is almost about to start, she is 17 years old. There is my purpose: to be center and support so that they can grow. Being support does not mean disappearing; it means helping without forgetting myself. Today I see my children and I understand that it is worth it. The contest makes me look back with affection, without complaining about what I have lived, because all of that shaped me. I don't know if it is an admirable talent for the world, but for me it is clear and sufficient.
