They were wrong about me the whole time, but I forgave them. My determination was stronger.

Hi ladies 💐, this is my first post in a community, and I wanted it to be in this one. I believe women need to stand together to face life and support one another—both physically and emotionally—which is why I’m joining you today. It’s a pleasure to find a space where I can share my experiences 🥰; I’d like to thank bobbyb58@bobbyb58 and thekittygirl@thekittygirl for such interesting questions.

  1. Tell us about a time when someone made a wrong assumption about you, without knowing the facts. How did you deal with it? How did it make you feel?

We are quite sensitive to various situations and elements in the world around us, and when children are involved, many of us feel that sensitivity even more deeply; as a mother, I see the love I have for my own children reflected in any child.

Once, at a previous job, we organized a collection of basic necessities to send to children in state care. A few days after the announcement, I started bringing in a lot of clothes and actively collecting sweets, gifts, food, and other donations. Some coworkers started gossiping, claiming I wanted to keep the items for myself and take them home; they questioned my actions and insisted my intentions were bad. At first, I felt hurt; they didn't really know me, yet their immediate reaction was to think the worst. I didn't understand why, though I didn't challenge them either. A few days later, while discussing the matter with my husband, I realized my determination to help was stronger than any lie they could tell. They no longer held me back; I forgave them in my heart and kept going—my resolve was greater than their negative words.

  2. We recently wrote about our favorite colors and how they make us feel. But, how has your favorite color changed over time? What prompted that change?

My favorite color used to be pink (influenced by the tastes of the time and the trendy clothes we wore) but today, I find everything I ever wanted in white. White truly embodies what it is said to represent: peace, harmony, purity, and tranquility. Isn't that what we all want? I’d say so!
