Hello holos-lotus@holos-lotus community, have you ever wondered how important having a positive mindset can be?

I know that we can't always maintain a positive mindset, because a busy life, and sometimes circumstances that are somewhat contrary to this way of seeing everything, prevent us from seeing the colors that surround us. They force us, metaphorically speaking, to have rainy days or moments when we are looking for the sun. Many times, certain people or circumstances make our existence on earth somewhat more difficult, and moving forward becomes a challenge.

Speaking from my personal experience, I haven't always been a person with a positive mindset. I clearly remember times when I thought I would never see the sunlight again or that I would drown in my own problems; but when forced to choose, I always chose to make it to the end of the road.

But... is having a positive attitude something innate, or is it learned over time?

From my point of view, it's a bit of both. A person's life experiences, the environment they develop in, the examples they adopt or learn from, and their genetic coding (DNA, inherited patterns, etc.) determine how resilient someone can become, and therefore their attitude towards life, towards problems, and even how they solve them.

This means that even if a person wasn't born with a strong and positive mindset, they can transform themselves (if they allow it) from within, which influences their relationship with the outside world.

Effects of maintaining a positive mindset

According to some articles I have read over the course of my life, maintaining a positive mindset brings a series of short- and long-term benefits that improve the quality of life.

Seeing life positively is key to maintaining mental health: a mind that believes everything has a solution manages to make its brain interpret it that way, generating more hormones related to calm and peace, while decreasing those that cause stress and anxiety.

In a chain reaction, a healthy mind evokes a healthy body: when the mind sends signals to the body saying that "everything is fine," the body rejuvenates faster since cellular composition changes. You rest better, and therefore perform better in daily tasks. Blood flow, blood pressure, blood composition, etc., reach their balance, in such a way that physical changes are even visible to the naked eye.

Choose to think positively

The choice is in our hands; we must understand that life isn't as overwhelming as problems sometimes make it seem. We attract what we think, and reinforced with actions, we draw closer to the goal we once set for ourselves. In such a changing society, maintaining a positive mindset can be a key factor for success in our plans, with a psychological perspective that materializes physically over time. Sometimes, for everything to be alright, we must start by convincing ourselves that we can achieve it.
