The Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated and enjoyed each year in China, Taiwan, and among the diaspora thereof. It falls midway through the harvest season — "the Chinese believe that the moon

This is a rather small barn with an incredibly simple design. I have seen relatively few barns that have nothing but a door and such minimalist construction! But, perhaps the sides or back of the barn

Once upon a time, OLD BARN number 107 was quite lovely when driving down Meadow Brook Lane. The two structures shown below were part of a quite large homestead. The old farmhouse seen to the right of the

wo.Ow ~ Does it seem possible that I have been here for nine years, already...? I knew my Hive Anniversary (or "Hiversary" as some of us like to call it) was coming up soon, and I was keeping close track

"Backlighting" is the term used in English when a light source is in the distance and behind the subject of a photo. This can create some interesting effects as light streams through, or around, the subject.

This is definitely one of the most delightful things I have found while out searching for old barns! I've never seen a barn with a striped roof, so finding this one was quite a surprise. The stripes make

It's always fun to find something unique while driving around in search of old barns and other rural kitsch. In general, silos are not that uncommon near barns in some parts of the world, but they're not

In the last post of my Old Barn Project, I reported how OLD BARNS № 097, 098, 099 are no longer standing. Oddly, this barn, too, is no longer in existence. I did not include this one in the last post because

These three barns are being shown together for a couple of reasons. First, they were found rather close to each other along the same road, as if perhaps they had belonged to a single farm. And secondly,

"Comfort Food" is any food that has the magical ability to satisfy the heart as well as the tummy. It is often a food that one might have enjoyed as a child and has a "comforting" quality to it because

Of all the barns in my collection, I find that OLD BARN № 096 is one of the most unique. While its basic structure is similar to others, the façade of the building is what really captures attention! When
