Nine Years on this chain!

wo.Ow ~ Does it seem possible that I have been here for nine years, already...? I knew my Hive Anniversary (or "Hiversary" as some of us like to call it) was coming up soon, and I was keeping close track of it until the past few days have been so challenging, it slipped way into the back of my mind. So, I was mildly surprised when I saw the notification from @hivebuzz on my last post with a shiny new badge!

There have been a lot of "ups" and "downs" since I have been here, but I'm still here because the "ups" definitely outweigh the "downs" by quite a bit. I have encountered some good people, good projects, good communities, and had fun doing it. Sure, the current low price is quite disappointing, but hey... All of us knew when we came here that crypto — same as stocks and other financial instruments — tends to go up-and-down like a yo-yo.

After all these years, I still believe one thing:

Hive is what we make it!

Even if the price of our beloved HIVE suddenly dropped to ZERO — heaven forbid! 🙀 — the infrastructure is still here for blogging, running communities, developing, and networking with people all over the globe in a decentralized manner. That, alone, is priceless. All we need is a couple of witnesses running nodes to keep it alive and we're set. But, hopefully, the price will rebound soon and one day we will be laughing as we remember HIVE's dropping to $0.04 and wondering if it would survive or not.

So, please raise your virtual glasses with me and toast our chain, toast that we've met each other, and toast to a lovely future as we continue to learn more about each other and grow together!
