This barn is quite a ways from the road, and because of trees on the property, there are only a couple of spots along the roadway where the barn is easily visible. The first photo in this post was made back in 2010, and now it is almost impossible to get the same exact view today. The following photos were made this year, 2026, and show the barn more from the "other" side.
Over the years, it is clear that the roof has suffered the effects of the weather, as rust has settled over much of it. I am actually a little torn about the rustΒ β in some regards, it is deterioration, which is somewhat unsettling. But, the rusty color adds a bit of artistic "flair" and a splash of color to the scene, even if that flair was painted because of the impermanence of things in Life.
This second shot from 2026 (below) is simply a zoomed-in view, taken from the same vantage point as the previous photo. The rust pattern looks slightly different, but I assure you that is a trick of the zooming-in and the light, nothing more. If one looks closely in the following shot, the deleterious effects of the weather can be seen on some of the boards comprising the structure.
The following screenshot from WorldMapPin.com shows the location of the barn on the property in Pickens County, South Carolina (USA). Two dotted lines show my line-of-sight in 2010 and 2026.

Sometimes, people like to hang unusual things on the sides of barns, such as vintage signs that have been decommissioned. The owners of this barn managed to find an old traffic signalΒ β two of them, actually, one with the standard "safety yellow" housing and one without. Wouldn't it be cool if they were still able to light them? π Click on the image to enlarge it, then users of PEAKD can use the scroll wheel or the 'plus' and 'minus' buttons under the image to enlarge even more and see the signals more clearly!
For those who like to see my original shot, sans editing, here it is, complete with utility poles, power lines, and poor contrast... π
As a bonus, below are a couple images of this barn without a watermarkΒ β If anyone wants to use them as wallpaper on an electronic device, feel free to download them. The one on the left is an enhanced version of my original photo from 2010. The image on the right is the same photo, but with a "Pastel" filter applied with my PaintShopProβ’ software to make it look like a watercolor painting. That pastel filter is such fun to play with! π

Do you like the idea of having one of my barn photos as wallpaper for your computer or cellphone? If so, most of them can be made available that way; there's only a couple of them which I might prefer not to do that way, but the others would be okay. The only thing I ask is that you give me credit if you should use them for any purpose other than personal wallpaper on your devices: CC BY-SA 4.0 @ thekittygirl
