ENGLISH VERSION

—Programming a game seemed like a childhood dream, but the hours in front of screens are sometimes horrifying.

Thought Jack as he blinked heavily at the screens, trying to follow every procedure to continue developing the immersive game he was working on.

His room had several empty soda cans, energy drinks, and coffee, along with junk food he used to eat something while sitting for long hours in front of the computers.

—Sir, what's your name? Why are you wearing such strange clothes? You must be a foreigner.

Hearing these words, Jack jumped up from the stone bench where he was lying.

—Sir, are you alright? You have a strange appearance.

Jack recognized the NPC character talking to him, but it couldn't be real. Sir Typhoon, named for his tenacity and combat skill, capable of destroying anything in his path—just like the weather events he was named after—couldn't possibly be speaking to him directly if he wasn't playing.

—What is this? —Jack thought as he brought his right hand to his head and looked at the knight with bewilderment.

—I must be asleep. Yes, it's a dream because I've spent so much time glued to the screen that I just passed out, and I can't even stop seeing this silly game in my dreams —Jack said, and pointing at Typhoon, he added: —You're not real hahaha, none of this is.

—Sir, you're talking to yourself, and of course I'm real. I think you need to see a doctor —the knight said, reaching his hand toward him.

But Jack, stunned, told him: —Don't touch me!
And stepping backward, he tripped over a stone and fell to the ground. After the crash, his eyes closed, and when he opened them again, he found himself at the bottom of the sea.

—Help! —He looked horrified when he realized that instead of the muffled sound and the expectation of swallowing water and dying, he could actually speak without a problem. He was even breathing, and when he looked down, he had a tail like a mermaid or a merman.

—What is this? —Looking to the side, he saw DarkMar City.
—Am I in another game? —he thought. And amid those thoughts, he recognized the command that appeared in front of him: "Bloody Hour." That sent him straight to King Triton's front lines to fight against the neighboring kingdom and its hordes of sharks and swordfish.

Everything looked darker. A series of fish-men with armor pieces—like the one he suddenly found himself wearing—charged toward the enemy lines, shouting, and the water turned a terrifying red. Jack didn't know where to look until he heard:

—Watch out, young man! —But when he turned his gaze forward, a giant mace struck him hard, and he felt his body fade into the furious waters of battle. Once again, his eyes closed.

When he woke up again, he was in his room—the same room full of energy drinks, coffee, and junk food. He was sitting in the usual chair, in front of the computers, and then he understood.

—They were dreams. I really need to rest, or this will be the end of me. I should take the rest of the day off, ugh.

And after that clear truth, he stood up, took a shower, and called up those friends he hadn't spoken to in days to agree to spend some time together—no computer games, just chats and laughter, real games, lived anecdotes, a day away from screens.
