Greetings 馃檹 dear Hiveans and community members. Welcome foodies, when it comes to food, our hunt for recipes starts.

Iam here with a nostalgic simple recipe which my mother used to cook and was part of my lunch box weekly once. It is prepared with partly raw n ripe plantain and goes well as a side dish for rice.

So let's begin

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

  • Plantain - 6 medium sized
  • Water - 1/2 glass
  • Salt - as per taste

For Coconut Mixture

  • Coconut - 1/4th of a coconut
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeruc - 1/4 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Garlic - 4 to 5 flakes
  • Curry leaves

For Spluttering

  • Cooking oil - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Shallots - 2 sliced
  • Red Chiilli - 1 or 2
  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig

PREPARATION METHOD

STEP - 1

Peel the plantain, wash them with salt watr and cut it into cubes. Now place them in a vessel by adding salt, turmeric and water. Close the lid and place them in stove for 10 minutes, in medium flame.

STEP - 2

Meanwhile, mix the coconut, Cumin, turmeric, Chilli powder, garlic flakes and curry leaves and grind them coarsely in a mixture.

STEP - 3

Mix the grinded coconut mixture to the cooked plantain and let it cook for another 3 minutes.

STEP - 4

Take a skillet, add oil and omce hot, accordingly add mustard seeds, shallots, red pepper and curry leaves. Once the shallots turn golden brown add the coconut mixed plantain into it and mix them gently for 2 minutes.

Your side dish is ready to be eaten with hot rice.

This dish is easy to cook and tastes well when you have it hot.
