It's another week over and I can, for the most part relax and take off my steelcap boots and let my feet breath a little.
But, I am not home just yet though. Right now I am at the Eureka Tavern, having just ordered their Morrocan Chicken Breast from their daily special menu.
I've just done some shopping at Big W as I desperately needed some new black pants. Not fancy dress pants, but cheap Chinos.
The pair I am wearing now developed a small hole earlier in the week, which then started to grow to a potentially embarrassing size until today when I had to resort to buying safety pins to protect my immodest modesty.
This had the unexpected side effext of having something shiny near my groin area in an environment where I was working with women, so I reduced the number of safety pins.
I also bought an A5 sketch pad and an A5 notepad. Both unnecessary, but are a reminder to work on the things that I need to. I'd like to have comic published before the end of next year and I also need to write more jokes.
The reason my pants developed a hole in them was because I was lifting some chairs off of a golf buggy and a chair leg hit my pants and damaged them. I was given the task of packing up after a union Christmas break up, and even learned to drive the golf buggy.
I am far more confident towards learning to drive fully next year.
I finished the self help book called "Unf#ck Your Life". It has some helpful ideas which I will implement going forward into next year. I should Google before I buy more books.
For the rest if the week I had been cleaning the sheep pens in the sheep pavilion at the Wayville Showgrounds.
This is why the hole in my pants grew so large, with the bending and squatting and sitting to scrub and scrape dried sheep manure off of wooden slats, left over from the Royal Adelaide Show.
There's work for next week as well as there is a rush on to get this finished before the managment break for Christmas.
Apparently they want to clean the tunnels under the sheep pavillion after Christmas. It's a nightmare task but it's 2 weeks work so we'll see whether I end up doing it. I'd want to be paid more to do it though.
It's hot, dark, smelly and there's the risk of snakes and mice. Mostly though, I got sick of bumping my head. Even with a hardhat you could hear me letting out F-bombs involuntarily 5 years ago when they wanted it done.
Let's hope I can find something else before then.
In general, I am glad to be working again.
I also paid for the BBC Maestro Billy Connolly comedy course. It's 19 videos and a 64 page workbook.
So far it's pretty good. It's not about techniques so much as specific advice in certain situations.
I am going to see if I can get a comedy pot on Saturday afternoon at the Legend's Bar.
I was offered a spot last time but I backed out because I hadn't prepared anything.
Tomorrow should be a lot better. Wish me luck.
Thank you for reading.
