Hello Coffee Loving Hivers!
So today is our 3rd day of home quarantine and luckily for us our home is our lovely little narrowboat 'Badger' on the UK canal network. Not a bad option for quarantine if you think about it. Naturally isolated.
Where we were moored for the last 3 nights wasn't ideal as there was a shallow silty ledge next to the canalbank making contact with the hull, which isn't good for it really and the little scraping noise as it bobbed about when boats passed by was annoying and a little worrying so we decided to move the boat 500m down the canal.
This has provided us with a slightly different spot to partake in our usual coffee time on the boat. I have to say I really am loving the new coffee spots we can sit in and it's now becoming very clear we will have a great variety of locations to enjoy a cup of the black juice.
It's a great feeling to have changed our location and had a mini cruise, all be it only 500m toa nice spot and then enjoy a nice brew of the black stuff. It was also quite nice to drive the boat a little and for the first time get a feel for what is to come.
Everyone that has passed by has been so friendly and supportive. Advice freely given and so far nobody has made us feel bad about our lack of knowledge and are very keen to help. So nice, so refreshing.
In another 7 days we should be able to really go wandering the system. I am so excited! This is proving to be such a good move.
