I was having cold feet

Her white teeth showing
We connected
on a different level
Felt like i Saw me

Collide
I knew the end of her sentences
Before she even mentioned
I was drowning in
the internal tears and emotions
For I knew i was scared
To reveal my true intentions
"Please give me a second"
Yes I needed air
To depressurize my thoughts
And release my clouded head
Wearing my heart on my sleeves
With a smile on my face
Went to tell her
I want her in my life
But this man comes up behind me
And introduced her as his wife
I was weak in my knee
Couldn't fake a smile
For i had come so close to perfect
