Red was Mary's favorite color. Not just because it was the color of roses, but also the color of love. She was in love with red as soon as she knew what love was. It was her primary color in daycare. Her favorite color in first grade and the color her mother had to order repeatedly since she kept using up her red in her coloring pencil set.
