I can't drive that. I can't drive that. I can't drive stick shift. I tried to learn once, back when I was a teenager, I think. Maybe after we moved back to WA, because it was with my sister-in-law, Naomi. I don't know why we never had another lesson. Maybe it just didn't seem relevant? I didn't have a stick-shift car and wasn't planning to get one. Maybe that was around when I thought I wanted a Chevy Nova, so I thought I would have to learn. But then I wound up buying a used Chevy Malibu, and it was automatic. I don't particularly care that I never learned to drive a stick shift. I don't think I will ever need to know that skill, but I can learn it later if I need to. But what if there's some sort of apocalypse and I need to know and there's no one left to teach me? Then maybe I would be screwed. But there would probably be lots of other reasons I'd be screwed, too. Oh man. I just brushed some coffee grounds off my knuckle. The water just clicked off, the hot water heater, that is. I can pour the water over my coffee now and make myself a carafe of coffee. What are those things called? The type of coffee maker I've been using for months now? I don't know. I like it, though. I feel like the coffee tastes good, tastes better then the drip coffee maker, and the experience of making it is more involved, so I pay more attention. I would like to get up and make my coffee now, but I'm waiting for this five minute timer to finish. I'm waiting. I am waiting. I am hearing the sounds of Lochlan's computer. I hear the kitten scratching in her litter box. I hear the timer.
