Underneath the almond tree. Underneath the almond tree. Underneath the almond tree there's a hidden cache of almond extract. Almond extract is rare these days, and that stash is how I stay alive. When someone needs almond extract, they're willing to pay a lot. I know it's a gamble, keeping it under the almond tree. You'd think someone would catch on to me. But there's not so many of us left, and fewer who even know about the almond tree. I'm careful when I come to it, criss-crossing for days so even if someone were following me, they'd have to get back to their own affairs before I arrived at the tree. I don't mind the journey. There's life enough left on the planet, though it looks different now. The mutations....yada yada yada.
Don't want to keep going with that dystopian future, it wasn't heading in a direction I liked. I like streams and woods and meadows and streams that run through woods and meadows. That's the path to the almond tree, that's why she likes it. Forget about mutations. But but but but but but but but. Okay. Where we going. The dryer is going. The dehumidifier is going. The dog's bark is going. The stream of sunshine is going. I want the rain, sure, but the sunshine will help dry out the dog's kennel. It's a fabric coated thing and she stepped in her own poop and then jumped on the top of the kennel, so I rinsed it off and then perched it sideways, hoping it would dry, thinking it likely wouldn't unless the sun came out.
Here's the dog:
She's available for adoption! Please, please, someone adopt her. She's so sweet, but she belongs in a single pet household, or possibly with just the right match of another dog. She's not the right fit for our three dog, four cat household. We found her one year and three plus months ago.
