Beat the Heat! A Quick Hydration Tip.

Drinking pure clean water is vital to achieving optimal health. When exercise or doing strenuous activities we need to hydrate, this point is even more exaggerated now that Summer is here. A good rule of thumb is to ‘drink to thirst’

While sports drinks have a mass appeal most of them are way to sugary and contain toxic artificial colors and ingredients to be considered healthy. Some people may see athletes on TV with their Gatorade cups but rest assured that they are very mindful of what and how they are putting into their bodies.

Even super bowl champion Tom Brady hates bottled sports drinks and said, “I have this lemon drink with a ton of electrolytes in it. It doesn’t have any sugar. I just load up on electrolytes and…it just keeps me right where I need to be.

If you need to replace your electrolytes because you are exercising hard, an easy tip is to make a homemade rehydration beverage using natural ingredients. Even coconut water is a great option for rehydration.
