Today the day started cloudy and we drove to Castelo Branco to do a walking tour. The city is known for the castle up on the hill but there are some other nice buildings around. We started walking by the city center where there are some public buildings as the Chamber of Commerce
The Town Hall
Convention Center.
The public market, where unfortunately some of the shops were closed but we still could see some fresh food and chat with some of the vendors.
This is the ancient local savings bank building.
And the tourist office, on a street full of very nice houses.
We were attended by a very nice guy who showed us the nice spots to visit and several tours you can do. We liked the one where you can hunt all the big wall paintings around, here's one we just caught not far from the tourist office.
We finally decided to walk uphill to visit the Castle. Climbing the tiny streets you could find this sign on one of the walls from a local poet.
And an ancient bakery store as we parked the car to start walking.
We passed through several tiny streets, to finally start seeing the castle tower.
And finally reached the castle on the top of the hill with some of the buildings inside the area.
Although it was a cloudy day, this is the fantastic city view you could see from the castle tower.
We still missed some areas to visit as the Bishop Palace Gardens, so we will have to come back
