Yesterday, after a long working morning, I decided to take the bike for a new ride. The forecast is warning about a new big rain storm for this weekend, which may last until next Wednesday, I might not be able to ride again before I leave to Portugal and did not want to spend a whole week without riding now that little by little I am getting in shape again. I have been increasing the ride difficulty, in very small increments of distance, but always adding uphill additional distance. I have set the goal to reach the castle by January.
As I ride through old known areas, I am aware of the damage the big storm which hit in early October has produced. Terraforming was done in the lower path, and here you can see one of the several broken pine trees.
Here you can see some of several landslides which feels quite dangerous when you ride next to it. The amount of water falling for a small period of time was too much for the soil to easily drain and produced this type of damage on the hilly areas.
Here's a shot of the hill I want to reach when I came back from Portugal. The building is an abandoned hospital which was used as a set for filming of Red Band Society, descriving the story of a group of teenagers suffering cancer.
*Red Band Society is the official American adaptation of the Catalan series Polseres vermelles. Developed by Margaret Nagle and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, it aired on the Fox network between 2014 and 2015
The sky was quite covered by clouds and you could barely see the ocean, but the temperatures are still warm, although everything is expected to change this weekend
Here's a curious picture. It is the remains of a mountain lift used to ride the handicapped patiens from the main building to the leasure/sport are back when the hospital was running, more than 40 years ago.
Here's the map of the ride.
