Greetings!
Not everyone in this life is capable of facing their fears, in fact this thing called fear has swallowed a whole lot of people just because they could not actually face their fear of the unknown with boldness. One thing that fear does is that it incapacitates us to the extent that what we could ordinarily do, we will now see ourselves as someone who could not do it.
Having talked so much about fear and how it operates in the life of every human, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt in the Hive learners community which is all about. “Fear.”
Going by the context of the prompt in the Hive learners community this evening, I would say that in my entire life, I have been on so many occasions defeated by my fear. I have been defeated by fear in my academics, career, business and so on, but one thing I have always done when such happened is to bounce back and face my fear and on so many occasions as well, I have been able to overcome my fear with my courage.
One of my fears that I overcame was that of approaching a lady who later became my wife. Back then, I could not face a lady or a girl and this is not just because I don't like ladies or the opposite sex, but because of fear of what the lady would do to me if I walked up to her and expressed my love to her.
So, there's this lady in my class back then whose name is Mercy, I love her so much that I used to send her anonymous message just to show to her how much I love her, but in the physical, I could not approach her and this is because of how have imagined within myself how she would embarrass and disappoint me if I should walk up to her and for some like me who could not handle disappointment and shame I decided not to walk up to her.
I told a friend of mine, Ayo about how much I love this lady, Mercy, and when he had heard me out, he encouraged me and narrated to me how he had at one point in his life overcame the same fear of approaching a lady, he said that my own case was even better when compared to his own case as he could not send an anonymous message like me to the lady she loved back then.
When I heard this and after he had encouraged me, I decided to try my luck and I walked up to this lady called Mercy and in getting to her, my heart was pounding with fear and as I was about to talk, the lady told me that she had noticed my feelings for her and that a friend of mine who I had told about the anonymous message had told her about my love for her and it was at this point that she agreed to my proposal and that how we started our relationship and to the glory of God we both got married on the 23rd of December, 2023 and we are living fine.
In conclusion, we should all try to overcome our fear with courage. We should not let fear overcome us but overcome fear with her courage.
