14th Chess960 Hivechess Tournament

Hello everyone.
Chess960 Hivechess Tournament is back. After some thought continuing with Chess960 seems like a good idea. We are here with same format and rules as before.
Last Sunday of the month or in some cases other day Chess960 tournament should be held. No change in rules. A bit more prizes and addition of rewards for best players of under 1300 Elo.
Total prize fund for January edition of 2026 is 30 Hive.

14th Chess960 Hivechess Tournament or January edition of Chess960 tournament starts this Friday at 19:00 CEST (17:00 GMT).

Mode for the tournament is 4 + 2. (70 minutes)

Rewards

30 Hive Total in rewards.
Top 10 ranked players get 1 Hive each.
Top 5 players rewards : First place 5 Hive, second place 4 Hive, third place 3 Hive, fourth place 2 Hive and fifth place 1 Hive.
Top 3 Under 1300 Elo players will get 1 Hive each.
1 Hive for biggest upset of the tournament.
Additional 1 Hive for all wins - at least 7 games played

Rules

In order to participate you need Lichess account and to be part of our Lichess team.
Hivechess team (password is "Hive")
And you have to play at least 5 games in tournament (biggest upset award eligibility).
Any additional rule regarding rewards will be added in Rewards explanation part.

There is a special award for person with most wins and runner up at the end of the year if we go through all 12 editions this year.

Saturday Tournament is back as well. We already had first round of 25 that are planned for this year. Dont forget to join. Rewards are higher than ever with 80 Hive distributed each round. Tournament is organized by

Hivechess Fun Tournament

Past Friday we had Hivechess Fun Tournament organized by @stayoutoftherz. Good to play some chess on Friday while waiting for Season 22. It happened to be Chess960 which was nice practice for start of the January 2026 editions of Ches960.
