A few weeks back, I came across someone who bears "peace" as name but nothing about the person is even remotely related to peace. At that point, I realized that peace is not just a name, nor is it what you are conferred on but it is choice that one makes. Someone can answer peace and still be an agent of chaos. Whereas someone can be very peaceable and not bear peace as name.

The truth is, there is nothing good and lasting that is achieved with violence but peace can answer to all. For peace to be effective, it must be to all and not just to a particular few. If you only follow peace with a few people and treat others with violence and chaos, then you are not peaceable. Your peace should extend to everyone, beginning from the people around you.
When you are faced with a situation where peace is the only option, you will realize how easily it is for you to live with peace. For every challenge or situation that comes to you, there will always be a peaceful way to resolve it without inciting violence. For example, when a mosquito rests on your grandpa's bald head, you will not kill it with a sledgehammer. Similarly, there is a way to resolve a potentially chaotic situation without involving violence.
It is worthy to note that peace is not a result of background or social status or religion or educational qualifications. Anyone can be peaceful if they choose to without a recourse to what anyone thinks. You do not follow peace with people because they deserve it but because humanity demands it. I am sure that everyone will want others to be at peace with them, but on your own part, are you at peace with others?
You do not have to wait until others follow peace with you before you follow peace with them. You have to understand that people have different inclinations and they must not agree to your point of view at all time. More so, you will have dissimilar school of thoughts with them. When you understand this, you will know how to welcome people's ideas without resulting to violence even if you do not agree with them.
When you have the urge to treat someone with violence, just remember that it will not make you a better person. If you join others in their chaos and their violence, then what difference are you making? To be different from the rest, you have to show yourself as being different and you have to do things differently. If there is benefits in living peacefully, then you do not need motivation to live peacefully.

You will agree with me that there is an inner joy that comes when you treat someone with goodness and with peace. Obviously, the people that sow peace will receive peace somehow. In the same way, the people that sow violence will also receive a measure of the same violence. So make your choice.
