Have you ever witnessed someone achieve something or attains a particular height and it seemed like that are stuck at it? Or even worse, some have not even achieved anything significant. This may not even be as a result of some external factors or some "village people" fighting against them, but it may be because they are doing something which they are not supposed to, or not doing something which they are meant to do. Here, we shall take a look at the enemies that oppose success, so as to beware of them and know how to deal with them, thereby achieving success.

The first, and very important enemy of success that we will look at here is "the comfort zone." A lot of people are just too docile and comfortable with where they are at the moment and see no reason or motivation to take a step from it. They keep following after the same old order, doing things the same way, avoiding risks, being straitjacketed to a particular method and they are okay with it. This enemy may come with certain degrees of success before it manifests. That is, someone may have achieved something good, then they suddenly settles for the good without realising that they can be better. In the long run, they will begin to see that what they saw as good is beginning to lose relevance, while they have denied themself the opportunity to make it better.

This particular "comfort zone" enemy is part of the principal reasons why a lot of people show unwillingness to accept changes. More so, it prevents them from taking risks and they fail to realise that they need to take risks to achieve something significant. When someone is too comfortable with where they are, they become unwelcoming to new ideas or even to changes as a whole even if they are beneficial to the person. One of the causes of this can also be the fear of taking the step and things do not turn out good. Well, just take the step and you may be surprised that the step will spur you into greatness.

The next thing that can be considered as an enemy of success is the feeling of self-doubt. Simply put "conditioned or acquired helplessness." That is, they tend to convince themselves that they simply cannot do or achieve it. They see themselves as lacking the ability and capacity to handle what may come out of a step that they need to take. Some people even try to make themselves believe that they are in a disadvantaged position or lack privileges because of their background, status, race, etc. This makes them not to believe in themselves and their ability, and as such, they take little or no steps towards their dreams.

The truth is that you are not in a disadvantaged position, and you have all it takes right within you to make a great difference and achieve your dreams. Do not allow your mind to tilt negatively towards believing that others are more privileged than you. One important thing to know is that the first battleground where the fight against "acquired helplessness" is fought and won is the mind. Once you have won it in the mind and convinced yourself that you can do it, then you can do it. Always tell yourself this; "I can do it, and I will get it done," then let your actions follow suit.

The last enemy of success is "short cut," or what people perceive as the path with the lowest resistance. Many people tend to look for the easiest way to achieve what they are looking for, and this will make them to cut corners and do all manner of things. This is what has lead many people into some supposed "get-rich-quick" schemes that have wrecked a lot of damages for them. What you should understand is that anything that will be great will require a lot of work to be done, which can even involve hard work and patience. If you want to follow the path of lowest resistance, you may take many steps in error.

It is worth noting that an outstanding success does not come at the press of a button, so do not limit yourself from achieving success by trying to pass through short cuts. If you cannot take the responsibility to fulfil the requirements of success and observe the processes of hard works, then do not expect success.
