In this era we live in, there are lots of wolf that carry the appearance of harmless sheep just to deceive the unsuspecting victims. You will be surprised that some parts of the negative things that happen to someone may not be coming from somewhere outside nor from their sworn enemies, but actually from their inner circle - from people that disguise themselves as their friends but with evil intentions. Sadly, some of them may look like angels in your presence but at your back, their evil intentions will manifest. This is why you have to be fully cautions of how you relate and deal with people.

The truth is, the signs are there to show you if someone is your real friend or just pretending to be one. People's instincts can be whispering things to them and they will simply ignore. In the long run, their instincts will become evident right before their eyes. Now someone may ask how to know when someone is not a friend disguising as one. Remember that the enemy within you normally wrecks a greater and more devastating havoc than someone outside that does not know anything about you. Let us see some pointers to show or prove the sincerity of a friend or the lack of it.
The first pointer is to be on the lookout for someone that always magnifies your flaws while laying less emphasis on your areas of strength. Someone that constantly makes you see the negative side of you or consolidates more on it without helping you to overcome it is not your friend. After all, they too have their own weakness, so why is your own being buttressed? Your good friend will see your hidden strength and will help you amplify it, not magnifying your weaknesses. When you stay with someone and all they see is the things you are not doing well but will never see what you do well, then they are not your friend.
Another pointer is someone who will not come to celebrate with you when you have things going well with you, and will not even congratulate you for your wins. But if something goes bad, they will be the first to come and show their sympathy. This simply means that they do not expect good things or positive things to happen for you and they are not happy that it is happening for you, but they only want negative occurrences for you. In fact, anyone that comes to comfort or console you when things go south but are nowhere in your moments of celebration is not your friend. A true friend should want good for you, not the other way round.
In addition to this, also check the reactions of the people you call friends when it seems like you are making more progress than them. Some of the people you call friends may actually wish good for you but with limitations. That is, they want you to make progress but not up to them. As soon as you begin to progress more than them, they will become sad. Does it mean that they are to remain perpetually ahead or better than you? Anyone you see that gets jealous or angry when you start to make progress more than them is not your friend. In fact, a true friend will wish for your ultimate good.

The last point to look at is to observe the dominant discussion of your friends when you are with them. Anyone that comes around you and all they will talk about is someone else - gossip them, slander them behind their back, talk all manner of things, then you should be careful of the person. The same way they are talking about someone else when you are with them will be the same way they will also table your matter before someone else when you are not there. Someone that talk so much ill about others to you will surely have some ills to talk about you to others, so beware. Remember that no one is mandating you to have a particular person as friend. If they are not worth your friendship, then you need to separate yourself from them.
