What the hell was I thinking? It's 100 degrees in my house right now and I decide to bake cookies???!!!
Oh well, it can't feel any hotter with the oven on so what the hell. I dug out the ol' 1901 Settlement Cookbook and started turning the pages. I choose the basic oatmeal cookie but I always modify. Today was a raisin, chia, coconut sort of day.
Damn, it's hot in here. I feel like I am melting. The butter was frozen when I started and completely mush in a half hour. I need an ice tea before I start...
Did I mention this is bikini baking? Well, it is because I am not putting any unnecessary clothes on if I don't have to. Oh my Dog, it is so hot! I am not complaining but I am evaporating. I promised I would not say a word about the heat this summer after last winter's 10 feet of snow!
So, here is the recipe right from the book. Go ahead and bake this for your significant other tonight. Maybe hang out in the kitchen with nothing under your apron...hot stuff.

I almost always add chocolate chips but not today as my beloved requested them less sweet.
Freshly baked oatmeal raisin chia coconut molasses cookies with fresh ice tea and lemon slice
Holy Shit! It's actually 102 degrees in the house. I have to go and chug this whole container of ice tea! Happy baking but wait till the temp goes down a bit.
