Alcohol ban - Home Brew Beer!!
Here in South Africa we are on level 3 lockdown again, with some additional measures, which means the sale of alcohol is totally banned.
What do you do when life gives you an Alcohol Ban??? ------you make BEER!!
I again brewed a nice Stout!!
I used the following ingredients:
- 5kg Belgium Pale Ale Malt (R169.63)
- 500g Chocolate Malt (R23.46)
- 100g Roasted Barley (R4.21)
- 50g Bravo (R40.47)
- 50g Cascade (43.13)
- Yeast: Lallemand Windsor (R75.95)
Total Cost: R356,85
I bottled 38 bottles, which brings the cost to R9.39 ($0.62) per bottle!!
I think it is reasonable, considering that a friend payed R60.00 for a commercial beer, he bought for me, at a restaurant that sells BEER under the table, during the alcohol ban!!
Below are two of my friends and I enjoying some drinks at my home. The BEER is my home Brew, which we all enjoyed, including the friend in the middle!! We are actually making fun with the friend in the middle with his pink drink!! (Real men don't drink pink drinks - this was a beer advert some time ago in South Africa!!) Incidentally the BEER my friend bought me was the same than in the advert.

The same brewer is now in hot water because of the advert below, which was now banned in South Africa, due to intoxicating masculinity!! Have you ever heard anything like this?? To me this advert is really not bad, what is your views??
