After months of preparation this Saturday was supposed to be the launch of Witney parkrun but unfortunately the "Beast from the East" had other ideas!
Sub zero temperatures and drifting snow meant we had to take the decision to cancel our inaugural run for the safety of our runners and volunteers. We were not alone - more than 80% of UK parkruns were cancelled!
It was a huge disappointment for the team but fortunately the weather is improving so it's looking good for next week.
I took the opportunity to get out in the snow and even added a few 200m efforts in the snow. Hard work but great training!
