La Muralla, beer that embraces the castles of Cuba | The #BeerSaturday Challenge Week 438

Hello beer lovers!

Today I feel like joyfully celebrating the meeting held in the city of Cienfuegos, here in Cuba, by @abelarte, @elviguitarra, and @restaurador as part of a series of artistic activities they share in various spaces in keeping with their creative profiles.

Between activities, besides delighting in the melody of the strings caressing the wind through the hands of @elviguitarra and the overflowing poetry of @abelarte and @restaurador, they've been enjoying a unique beer that has been gaining popularity on store shelves across the country.

I pause here to acknowledge @elviguitarra. To her—whose name isn't Cecilia, like the saint for whom International Music Day is celebrated, but Elvira—I dedicate these beers especially, for all the light she bestows upon us with her chords and melodies on the wind. @elviguitarra, Happy Music Day!

We are talking about La Muralla beer, a beverage made in Spain that has gone through various forms in its expression.

Someone in Europe might find it in their dark beer option, stronger, foamier, but here in Cuba, we have the privilege of a launch that has had the delicacy to show itself with a new edition dedicated to colonial Havana, its castles, that Havana surrounded by walls and of which some glimpses are still preserved in the historic center.

Cienfuegos is another city that preserves its castle in remarkably good condition, and although it doesn't have city walls, it does have the pleasure of experiencing the expression of culture in the company of beer. Here in Villa Clara, where I am, we don't have walls or castles, but we do have beer, and that's why I've decided to buy two bottles to enjoy and imagine myself toasting with those who share their art and with all of you.

Upon tasting it, La Muralla, with an alcohol content of approximately 4.8%, reveals a subtle aroma reminiscent of malt. Its light body lends it a smoothness that is complemented by its abundant head and amber color, resulting in a refreshing experience that is much appreciated in our hot climate.

As I walk, I see the walls of our capital, its castles... And suddenly I realize that behind me there's a building almost as old as those fortresses of yesteryear.

I take a sip of my last beer and remember the song that invites us to open the walls to love, to life, to smiles, to hugs... and so I say goodbye for now, sending you all a hug of light!
