Couple of weeks ago, we had a gathering at Second Wife restaurant located in Model colony of Karachi. It is near Jinnah international Airport and also near my in-laws house so, I have to say it is situated in a good locality :P. A friend of mine from my previous company, invited me to the place as he arranged a get together. One of my friend missed this gathering due to his busy schedule however, we four met at the restaurant and had a good time with a wonderful dinner together.
One of them was my old student at work, to whom I guided and worked hard to teach the product knowledge. I was meeting her after a long time, almost after 2 years so she is now well settled and promoted to different department. She had a lot to share so, she was unstoppable and started sharing her office stories. One of my friend then interrupted and asked to place an order for dinner and then continue with her stories as he was starving and came directly from work.
I am always good in placing orders so, I took the responsibility and ordered following dishes:
Choosing the correct dishes and keeping in mind that nothing would be over or short in accordance to the number of people is an art and I am in most cases did this job perfectly. Once again, I successfully choose some nice dishes which were upto the mark and delicious and on the other hand, nothing was left means everything was completely enjoyed and eaten well.
Chicken Shahi Karachi was giving a good taste with garlic naan. It was not that good but would count it as average because I had some better Karahis than this at other places.
Never had chicken Hanjori before, in fact, I heard that name for the first time. It was recommended by the waiter when I was looking to have some Chinese gravy with rice. I do like to taste new dishes however, it is risky as you never know what is going to be served. We all liked this new dish. It was nicely cooked and taste was little different from other Chinese gravies. Thumbs up on this one and would recommend others to try it.
Chowmein was normal and same as served in most of the places, nothing special about it. Kiddo of my friend liked it a lot and happily ate it, good to see when kids finally approve and accept something to eat with a smily face.
We all were so busy in gossiping and discussions that I forgot to take a picture of Turkish kababs and chowmein. I didn’t had a chance to try Turkish kababs. My friend finished it in no time so, I think it was that good and his feedback was great for it. Why not? You finished it in seconds LOL hungry man.
Overall, it is a nice place to hang out with family and friends and I would give three stars out of five to the food, presentation, ambiance and sitting area. Staff is friendly and quick service is the positive point. We enjoyed a lot and had a good time altogether.
