Hello gente de Hive, qué tal su día? El mío en extremo agotador, y es que la Escuela Bíblica de Vacaciones (EBV), arranca el lunes y hoy estuvimos en la iglesia organizando todo lo relacionado con la decoración, y cuando finalmente pude llegar a casa para descansar (pasadas las 10:40 p.m.), una vez en cama no tenía nada de sueño, así que aproveché para contarles qué tal estuvo la jornada, pero antes les comento qué es la EBV.
Se trata de una especie de Plan Vacacional que lleva a cabo nuestra iglesia, generalmente en el mes de Agosto, y que este año tiene por nombre Estación Iluminación, y tiene como objetivo principal hablar sobre la vida de Jesús durante toda esta semana, y por supuesto cuando se trabaja con niños tratamos de llamar su atención con una linda ambientación, y en eso estuvimos hoy, pero la verdad es que hubo muchísimo retraso, porque aunque la idea era solo realizar el montaje, gran parte de las decoraciones se estaban haciendo en el momento, lo que retraso muchísimo el trabajo.
A pesar de eso, todos mantuvimos una buena actitud y sobre todo la disposición de dar lo mejor de nosotros para dejar la iglesia lo más linda posible para la EBV y que los niños puedan disfrutar de un ambiente lleno de colorido.
Durante las 7 horas que estuve en la iglesia (unos cuantos siguen allá mirntras escribo este post) hicimos un montón de manualidades, inflamos globos, pintamos, pegamos carteles, merendamos como tres veces y reímos muchísimo, convencidos de que todo el esfuerzo bien vale la pena, y la verdad es que la pasamos genial!
Hello, Hive community! How’s your day going? Mine has been extremely exhausting—the Vacation Bible School (VBS) starts on Monday, and today we were at church organizing everything related to the decorations. When I finally made it home to rest (after 10:40 p.m.), I wasn’t sleepy at all once I got into bed, so I figured I’d take this opportunity to tell you all about my day, but first let me explain what VBS is.
It’s a kind of Vacation Program that our church runs, usually in August, and this year it’s called Season of Enlightenment, and its main goal is to focus on the life of Jesus throughout this week. And of course, when working with children, we try to capture their attention with a beautiful setting—which is what we were working on today. But the truth is, we fell way behind schedule because, even though the plan was just to set up the display, a large part of the decorations were being made on the spot, which really slowed down the work.
Despite that, we all maintained a positive attitude and, above all, a willingness to give our best to make the church as beautiful as possible for Sunday School so the children can enjoy a colorful environment.
During the 7 hours I spent at the church (a few people are still there as I write this post), we did a ton of crafts, blew up balloons, painted, put up posters, had snacks about three times, and laughed a lot—convinced that all the effort was well worth it, and honestly, we had a blast!
