For as long as I can remember I have loved Christmas, primarily because it was the best vacation in the world, as we would come to Margarita, where all my cousins were together. It was the only time of the year where they all coincided, so it was a lot of company to play with.

As the years went by, when I had my own family, Christmas had another meaning, and that is that my two children were in my tummy by December 24, and just a few days away from being born, so I can't conceive of a better gift or a better reason to love her that much more.

My oldest son, our gift from heaven, was born on Three Kings Day... January 6th, and my doll Miranda, almost three years later, closer to Christmas... December 26th, so, how not to love this beautiful date, that besides the religious meaning it has, for me represents the confirmation that miracles DO exist, because after having been told that we could not have children naturally, we had two beautiful children, who were born surrounded by bright lights, Christmas decorations, Christmas trees and delicious food.

Undoubtedly, after they came into our lives, Christmas is much more beautiful, and I can't help but feel happy and nostalgic for my belly, for the babies that are already huge, but that I still carry in my arms, with some effort, yes, but feeling them close fills me with peace.

Christmas at home is joy and gratitude, and despite the country's situation, we try to make it all lights, sparkles, games and delicious food, just like the first Christmas, when they were so small that I could not even dream of the wonderful children they were going to become.

Being a mom is my greatest gift, my nicest Christmas, without hesitation, I don't need anything else.

Happy TBT Thursday!
