Since I knew I was going to be a mother, my priority was my baby and after Miranda was born, they were already two little people that I decided to put above me and my needs, and the truth is I do not know if it is the right thing to do, I think that for many it is not, and now that my children are older I think I should have handled it with more balance.

It is true that they depend on me, especially when they were younger, because they literally depended on me for everything, and I took it so literally that I stopped taking care of myself in many ways, but this year, I have decided to love myself a little more without stopping being a mom.

Maybe for many it sounds obvious, and even something natural, but for me the truth is that "normal " is that my children were always above my needs, especially in our country, where the slightest expense means that you must stop doing another, that is, you have to prioritize one thing over the other, and I got to the point where I stopped being my priority.

I stopped buying things for myself, going to the doctor, limiting my outings with friends because everything is an expense, and the children always come first, the house, the school, the car and lastly me, and of course that turn never comes, because money is never enough, and then you ask yourself, when will the time come?

The truth is that I think the time has come to let go of that feeling of guilt and start doing things for me and for me. I know that my children will understand, and that the hardest job will be to fight with myself.

I remember that before the country's crisis I had an arsenal of creams and products for me, personal care, even for my eyelashes, and I'm not exaggerating. I had a whole closet shelf full of products that no longer fit in the bathroom.

Hair ampoules, creams, masks, vitamins of all kinds, everything you can imagine, even being a mom, I could buy what I needed, although I must confess that I was not very consistent in the use of everything I had, but I could access them without worrying about getting out of control of the budget.

Now my skincare boils down to a face mask that even if I set the alarm I forget to use, because I'm busy with something more "important ". More important than me. And not to mention the vitamins that only show up at home when the covid threatens.

By the time Miranda was born, the crisis in the country was in all its splendor, salaries were no longer enough and we had to start prioritizing, and of course the children's things were above all.But now that I think about it coldly, many of those things were priority, because I decided so, not because they really were.

But as every day is a new beginning, a blank page to start writing a new story, I have decided that thinking about me is not superfluous, that taking care of me is also a priority, because I am also important and as my friend yris89@yris89 says, "I deserve it ", and I will repeat it every day.

And although this year I was already determined to make some changes, this morning talking with Yranna, I decided to follow her steps, and make my list of intentions, and put everything I want for me.

A good skincare routine, because yes, I deserve it.

Vitamins to take care of my health, because I need to be healthy too.

Visit the gynecologist in the first trimester because my health is also a priority, my children need me healthy, and taking care of myself is a sign of love for me and for them.

Buy some clothes, because the ones I have are years old, and I deserve to have nice and new things too.

I know that none of this is achieved by just wishing for it, and that surely the first thing I will have to do, is to work on myself so I don't feel bad about using some money for things I need. That's going to be my biggest struggle.

On the other hand, as for how I am going to achieve it, I have to start saving seriously, and as I was already on my budget based on the 50/30/20 formula with a modification that left it at 80/20 (my invention), I will use that 20% of each income in Hive to send it to savings and use it on me, and so I hope to fulfill my list of intentions for this 2024.

The most important and at the same time the most difficult of all this plan, is to be able to fulfill it and respect it, and I will try to do it for the love of me, because my life is also a priority.
