Living with Friends [Eng/Esp]

With a friend, life is more beautiful and their presence alone makes any moment instantly better. Even a two-day chess tournament!

Con un amigo la vida es más bonita y es que su sola presencia hace que cualquier momento mejore al instante. Incluso un torneo de ajedrez de dos días de duración!!

Happy Friday #familyandfriends friends, ready to enjoy the weekend? I'm super ready for two days of well deserved rest, because last weekend was very busy with a chess tournament in which Matias participated with a duration of two days. And yes! You read that right, TWO DAYS!

The first day was on Saturday and a total of five rounds were to be played to leave four for Sunday, since it was for nine rounds. And in simple words, we would be on Saturday from 9am to 5pm and on Sunday from 9am to 1pm.

As you can see it is a LOT of time and since it is a chess tournament it is obviously not the same as going to watch a soccer match where the euphoria of the game keeps you entertained, because chess needs a lot of silence, so there are hours and hours in which we can not be very close to the kids and also making the greatest possible silence. Fun, isn't it?

Feliz viernes amigos de #familyandfriends, listos para disfrutar el fin de semana? Yo súper preparada para dos dias de descanso bien merecido, pues el pasado fin estuvo bien movidito con un torneo de ajedrez en el que participó Matías con una duración de dos días. Y sí! Leyeron bien, DOS DIAS!!

La primera jornada fue el día sábado y debían jugarse un total de cinco rondas para dejar cuatro para el día domingo, ya que era para nueve rondas. Y en palabras simples, estaríamos el sábado desde las 9am hasta las 5pm y el domingo desde las 9am hasta la 1pm.

Como ven es MUCHÍSIMO tiempo y al tratarse de un torneo de ajedrez obviamente no es lo mismo que ir a ver un partido de fútbol en el que la euforia del juego te mantiene entretenido, pues el ajedrez necesita de mucho silencio, así que son horas y horas en las que no podemos estar muy cerca de los chicos y además haciendo el mayor silencio posible. Divertido no??

In my case we usually all go as a family to support Matías, but on Saturday our car had to be taken to the mechanic so I would have to go alone with him, but according to my plans everything would be perfect since Claudimar, a mommy friend who also registered César (her youngest son) in the tournament, offered to take me and of course I would count on her company.

But at the last minute there was a change of plans and Claudimar had to go to get gas, so her husband would be in charge of going with César, and consequently we would go with him and despite the change of plans I have no complaints because Jorge is a very enthusiastic conversationalist, but in the middle of the morning he had to leave and I was left alone in the middle of an incredible amount of small children that made the tournament completely lose the calm that characterizes it.

In addition, Matias' category was in a separate area to which I had no access, so I was really bored. Each round takes a long time, even more than an hour, so when I saw Claudi appear in the middle of the kids my happy face was priceless!

En mi caso solemos ir todos en familia a apoyar a Matías, pero el sábado nuestro carro tenía que ser llevado al mecánico así que me tocaría ir sola con él, pero según mis planes todo estaría perfecto ya que Claudimar, una mamita amiga quien también inscribió a César (su hijo menor) en el torneo, se ofreció a llevarme y por supuesto contaría con su compañía.

Pero a última hora hubo cambio de planes y Claudimar tuvo que ir a surtir gasolina, así que seria su esposo el encargado de ir con César, y en consecuencia nosotros con él y a pesar del cambio de planes no tengo quejas porque Jorge es un conversador muy entusiasta, pero a media mañana se tuvo que ir y yo quedé sola en medio de una cantidad increíble de niños pequeños que hicieron que el torneo perdiese por completo la calma que lo caracteriza.

Además la categoría de Matías estuvo en un área aparte a la que no tenía acceso, así que yo estaba realmente aburrida. Cada ronda toma muchísimo tiempo, incluso más de una hora, por lo que cuando vi a Claudi aparecer en medio de los niños mi cara de felicidad no tuvo precio!

The chatting and eating started right away, as we immediately went downstairs to eat some delicious hamburgers with the kids and after a while of good chatting we went upstairs for the remaining three rounds!

The atmosphere and the mood changed immediately because of course I already had someone to talk to and the kids had one more to play with when each round was over, since Claudi brought with her Arturo, her oldest son and Matias' best friend, so the three musketeers were complete.

I think Matias was begging to finish the rounds quickly to sit down to play with his friends and me of course, super relaxed and distracted with Claudi's company, since Miranda hadn't gone with me either because she stayed studying.

So Claudi definitely came as a lifeguard and that's a good part of the value of a friend. They are those who are there in good times and bad and in this case in the most boring moments and make them better than they would have been without the presence of a friend.

Se activó de inmediato la conversadera y la comilona, ya que bajamos de inmediato a comer con los niños unas ricas hamburguesas y luego de un tiempo de buena charla subimos para las tres rondas restantes!

El ambiente y el ánimo cambiaron de inmediato porque por supuesto ya tenía con quien conversar y los niños uno más para jugar cuando terminaba cada ronda, ya que Claudi trajo con ella a Arturo, su hijo mayor y mejor amigo de Matías, así que los tres mosqueteros estaban completos.

Creo que Matías rogaba terminar rápido las rondas para sentarse a jugar con los amigos y yo por supuesto, súper relajada y distraída con la compañía de Claudi, ya que Miranda tampoco había ido conmigo pues se quedó estudiando.

Así que definitivamente Claudi llegó tipo salvavidas y ése es en buena parte el valor de un amigo. Son esos que están en las buenas y las malas y en éste caso en los momentos más aburridos y hacen de ellos algo mejor de lo que hubiesen sido sin la presencia de un amigo.

The first day of the tournament ended after five o'clock and we returned home with two exhausted children and mommies too, also with work waiting for us when we got home, because Claudi also works as a baker and we both had deliveries for Sunday, but we said goodbye with all the good vibes and with the plan to meet the next day to finish a really exhausting day.

Undoubtedly it was a weekend in which we moms ended up almost dead, but I am infinitely grateful for the presence of Claudi and her children, because something that could have been completely tedious changed completely when shared with friends.

And yes, we ended up having a pretty exhausting weekend, but without a doubt well spent, because we talked until we got tired (we never get tired!), we even took the opportunity to exercise since there was space for it, and the kids shared with friends. So, what more could you ask for?

El primer día de torneo terminó pasadas las cinco y regresamos a casa con dos niños agotados y las mamis también, además con trabajo esperando al llegar a casa, pues Claudi también trabaja repostería y ambas teníamos entregas para el domingo, pero nos despedimos con toda la buena vibra y con el plan de encontrarnos al día siguiente para finalizar una jornada realmente agotadora.

Sin dudas fue un fin de semana en el que las mamás terminamos casi muertas, pero agradezco infinitamente la presencia de Claudi y de sus niños, pues algo que pudo ser completamente tedioso cambió por completo al ser compartido con amigos.

Y si, terminamos pasando un fin de semana bastante agotador, pero sin lugar a dudas bien aprovechado, porque hablamos hasta que nos cansamos (nunca nos cansamos!), incluso aprovechamos de hacer ejercicio ya que había espacio para ello, y los niños compartieron entre amigos. Así que, qué más se puede pedir??

Y bien, eso ha sido todo por hoy. Espero tengan un excelente fin de semana. Por mi parte, me dispongo a descansar y mirar algunas series. Besitos y bendiciones chicos!
