Getting back to normality was something we all longed for after living two of the hardest years of our lives and although this return to normality has been progressive, every day we are getting closer to it and proof of this is that after a long time, today we were able to go to the classrooms and enjoy the closing of the Miranda Project.
Happy #motherhood daddies, I hope you are feeling great and have had a great week. Today I wanted to share with you an experience that makes me super happy and it was the joy of being able to attend after so long to my daughter Miranda's school to enjoy her project closing of this second term, because despite having joined the classrooms a year ago, the projects were still done behind closed doors without the presence of parents.
And to be honest, even though I don't love everything that the closing of the project implies (pictures, exhibitions, costumes, snacks, etc.) I love to see my children showing us what they have learned in class, something that in two years I will no longer enjoy, since Miranda will be in high school, as well as her little brother Matías, who started this year, so I must take advantage of what is left of that stage of my girl's childhood.
The name of the project was "Traveling the South American Continent " and as the name suggests, the objective was for the children to get to know each country that is part of the continent in which we live, so each child was assigned a country. In Miranda's case, it was her turn to talk about Brazil.
So with time we researched the points that her exposition should contain, we made the corresponding poster and we prepared a dessert to share, some delicious Brigadeiros which are the typical dessert of Brazil.
The time of the activity was set for 7:30 am and to my surprise they started on time, which I liked very much, because I am annoyed by unpunctuality. So we got off to a good start!
The teacher welcomed the parents and the truth was quite excited to resume after such a long time the closing of face-to-face projects and without much delay the presentations began.
I was waiting for them to be done in order of list so that Miranda would be the first one, since her last name is Agreda, and so the torture would not last too long neither for her nor for me, because I must confess that I don't know who was more nervous, her or me!
However, the dynamics was different and it was done in alphabetical order but of the countries and due to the number of children, two students would speak for each country. Luckily Miranda had Brazil, so she was number four and thank God it was like that because I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown as Miranda at home was forgetting some things from the exhibition. So I was grateful when it was finally her turn, and I must say that she did quite well and with the help of the mind map we made for the exhibition she was able to follow the order of the points without any problem.
After 9:00 am the presentations of the 30 children that make up the Miranda room ended and as a closing of the activity there was a sharing of typical dishes from each region of the continent. Sweet and savory dishes arranged on a long table showed us the diversity that exists in South America, which is not only present in its dishes but in each of the countries that make it up.
And that was the ideal moment to take some pictures with her friends and others that she could use to document the experience and share it with all of you.
It was really a learning activity for the children, who during the whole month of January were studying in class about the different countries of our continent. In fact every day Miranda came home with some curious fact about the countries they were studying and although she was nervous about presenting in front of her parents she was very excited about the end of the project.
We, for our part, returned home happy to see how much our little girl has grown and how well she manages to perform in her presentations in spite of her nerves. Definitely this kind of activities help them a lot for what will be the high school stage because it allows them to lose stage fright and strengthen their self-confidence.
And with this beautiful experience full of emotions I say goodbye and wish you a wonderful weekend. Kisses and blessings daddies!
Besitos y bendiciones papitos!
