Aunque no quería recoger aún la navidad me activé este fin de semana con eso porque tengo algunas cositas que he hecho puestas en cualquier lado, al igual que mis cactus, así que decidí que ya era hora de guardar todo, con la promesa de este año decorar con un poco más de anticipación para disfrutarlo un buen tiempo.
Although I didn't want to pick up Christmas yet I got active this weekend with that because I have some little things I've made laying around, as well as my cactus, so I decided it was time to put everything away, with the promise this year to decorate a little more in advance to enjoy it for a good while.
En casa este es un trabajo que hago solo yo, porque no se puede hacer a la ligera, ni recogerlos, ni guardarlos, así que prefiero hacerlo yo para garantizar que nada se dañe, sobre todo porque este año tengo muchas cosas de papel y no quiero que se dañen, así que como ven no se trata de solo recoger y ya, sino de organizar todo muy bien y por supuesto yo tengo mi sistema para cada cosa.
Esta vez las decoraciones que usé no fueron las tradicionales, así que tenía que ser cuidadosa sobre cómo las guardaría porque las quiero volver a usar, quizá no todas, pero sí junto con mis otras decoraciones.
Así que lo primero que hice fue clasificar, y para ello retiré todas las decoraciones del árbol y las ubiqué en grupos, luego retiré las guirnaldas tejidas y las enrolle en un rollo de cartón para evitar nudos, ya que al ser tan delgadas sería bastante complicado desenrredarlas.

Lo siguiente fueron las luces, y con ellas hice lo mismo que con las guirnaldas, usé un cartón grueso para enrollarlas y poder soltarlas con facilidad cuando las vuelva a usar. Esto lo hice sin apretar demasiado para no dañarlas, y repetí lo mismo con las demás luces que usé para decorar este año.
También recogí las casitas, los gnomos, y los demás detalles y cuando estuvo todo comencé a guardarlos en bolsas, y en este caso lo que hice fue colocar junto todo lo que era de papel como tal, los adornos de yeso y masa en otro lugar, todo lo de tela o hilos también juntos, y de esa forma guardé todo en bolsas y ahora tocaba el almacenamiento que es la parte crucial para que todo se conservará hasta la próxima Navidad.
Así que lo que hice fue colocar lo más pesado abajo y las cosas más livianas arriba. Las luces van dentro de una caja para protegerlas mejor y ya con todo en su sitio, nos queda bajar el arbol de navidad para lavarlo muy bien, retirar la "nieve", dejarlo secar y poder guardarlo.
Next were the lights, and with them I did the same as with the garlands, I used a thick cardboard to roll them up so that I could easily release them when I used them again. I did this loosely so as not to damage them, and I repeated the same with the other lights I used to decorate this year.
I also collected the little houses, the gnomes, and the other details and when everything was ready I started to put them in bags, and in this case what I did was to put together everything that was made of paper as such, the plaster and dough ornaments in another place, all the fabric or threads also together, and in that way I put everything in bags and now I had to store them, which is the crucial part so that everything will be preserved until next Christmas.
So what I did was to put the heavier stuff downstairs and the lighter stuff upstairs. The lights go inside a box to protect them better and now with everything in place, we have to take down the Christmas tree to wash it very well, remove the "snow ", let it dry and put it away.
Como siempre, hubo un poco de nostalgia en todo el proceso, porque en verdad amo ver las decoraciones navideñas en casa, pero también estoy emocionada por todos los proyectos que tengo en mente para mi hogar este año. ¿Y ustedes, ya recogieron la navidad en casa?
As always, there was a bit of nostalgia in the whole process, because I really love seeing Christmas decorations at home, but I'm also excited about all the projects I have in mind for my home this year. And you, have you already picked up Christmas at home?
