During the National Triathlon Championship in Cuba, I had the honor of being invited by the Cuban National Triathlon Team. This series is dedicated to the men’s division, as the first part of a project that will later also feature the women’s category.

My goal was not just to document an event, but to capture the essence of triathlon: endurance, commitment, and selfovercoming. Each image reflects the inner struggle of the athletes; the swift transitions, the focused gestures, the physical exhaustion, and the absolute determination.

I chose to work in black and white to highlight emotions and textures, allowing contrast to speak where words fall short.
I stripped away color to leave only the essential: pure effort.

Gear used:
– Canon 5D Mark III
– Canon 24-105mm f/4 (borrowed)
– Canon 70-300mm
– Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 (manual, with adapter)

With limited resources but a clear vision, I built this visual testimony of what it means to compete by sheer willpower.

Thanks to the Cuban National Triathlon Team for their trust.
This is just the beginning.
