I love busy days at home. Pizza for dinner tonight and bread for a week. I use a basic white wheat bread recipe you can find all over the net. I brush olive oil over the buns after they’re done baking.
I am still getting used to baking in this oven. The oven was set at 425 degrees and I bake the bread for 15 minutes. As you can see the bread baked through, however the tops didn’t brown evenly. I think I will brush the buns with melted butter before baking to see if that will aid browning.
I’m making pizza tonight. We have pizza every time I make bread. I’m breaking my carb fast for some homemade pizza tonight.
I learned how to garden living in Oregon, on the west side of the Cascades near Mt Hood, 35 miles SE of Portland Oregon. Most of the year our climate is cool and wet, and it’s not easy growing hot weather loving crops.
Now I live near Tulsa Oklahoma, which has a longer warmer spring, summer, and fall. You can see my first successful Okra plants, the flowers are beautiful. The okra pods are delicious rolled in batter and fried. I’ve also pickled some and canned a couple batches for soup.
Mrs Bleu flew to the top of the shed to avoid the rooster. Horny roosters are crazy when young, always chasing the hens around.
