This is little boy and he's extremely upset right now. I've blocked his path of escape.
We recently built a enclosure to keep all the chickens together. The hens would go broody in the woods and end up not coming back home. Plus they were getting into a flower bed. Which was upsetting my son so we fenced them in.
Anyways. Little boy has escaped several times. At first I thought he was flying over the fence so we clipped his wing. (It doesn't hurt them)
And again he got out. So I went looking and found it. A small spot where the fence was bent up allowing him to wiggle thru. So I blocked it. Waited until nightfall so I could catch him. I ended up not doing it last night. Waited until this morning. He slept safe in the old pen (which that's where a hen and her chicks are going so he can't stay in there)
I caught him this morning right before daybreak and took him to the new yard area and let him free. First thing he did was run to the corner trying to find his way out before the dreaded Arnold woke up.
This is Arnold. He rules the roost. We have a total of 5 rooster's. He tolerates the other roosters. One, named Ollie we think he thinks is a hen.
Anyways back to little boy. For some reason Arnold really doesn't like LB. And the chase was on. Poor LB was trying his best to find his escape route.
For now they've settled down. LB is STILL looking for a way out but Arnold has been distracted by the hens coming out.
I think in time they'll settle down. I have too many roosters, I know. But no one wants to take roosters and they've become pets at this point so I'm not going to kill them.
I wanted to say there's plenty of room for LB to run and stay away from Arnold. He's not under constant attack.
