So I posted in snaps the yesterday a conversation I had with Micah. But I wanted to elaborate what actually took place!
On the way to take Doug to work, Micah said, go to store. I asked him why. He said Micah's hungry is what he replied with. I told him we had plenty of stuff at the house to eat we'd get it when we got back home. Then he said Micah's thirsty. Again, I had told him we had drinks at home but I had some water he could have. What the deal is, Micah likes going to the store to get snacks. He wasn't hungry.. he only wanted to get something. Before we even left he was saying "go around the circle".. Which means go a different way to papaw's work... There's a store that direction.
Micah likes patterns. And when Doug's on graveyard and day shifts ...we do stop and get Micah breakfast so I don't have to wake him quite as early. But the week we don't have to eat on the run.. I find myself saying we don't have to spend money Everytime we go out lol. Or sometimes I just say I don't have any money on me. (And he still repeats, because that's what Micah does. Repeats everything. Won't necessarily respond to conversation except limited responses. Only his desired goal... Go around circle, go to store, Micah's hungry, etc)
But yesterday was different!
Anyways, we get to Doug's work, he gets out. Micah starts back up. Here's how it went.
Micah: go to bank
I asked why
Micah.. Get money
I asked why
Micah.. Go to Walmart
I asked why
Micah.. Get cupcakes
That was the longest back and forth conversation I've had with him! I just thought I was so happy when he finally started answering yes and no but this was even better!!!
I wasn't planning on going to Walmart... But I did! 🤣 I needed a few things anyways. And yes, Micah got cupcakes and popcorn too because he was out. And he missed sharing his popcorn with the chickens😂🤷😍
The milestones he's accomplished lately are so huge to me. When he was younger, I didn't know if he'd ever do anything but scream and bang his face on things. 😓 That sounds terrible but it was terrible😓 However,he's come so far especially this year!!
He's the happiest, hardest working little boy I know😍❤️
Anyways having that extended conversation with him was a milestone I wanted to share and explain why it was such a huge deal to us!
Oh and one more thing. Since Micah told Doug, love you papaw. I've heard him tell his daddy love you! He's still not told me yet... The little turkey but I know he does. He's my shadow! EVERYTHING I do he's right there following me. If I come to a sudden stop he'll run into me😂🤣
One day I'll hear it. I mean he says it if you tell him to say it but that's not what he did with papaw Or his daddy. In the meantime I will keep telling him just how much I love him and wait on him with no pressure❤️
