Bragging on Micah🥰

Recently Micah accomplished a milestone whether he realized it or not.
Not too long ago, Micah was with me when I was taking Doug to work.
When Doug was getting out of the car. Micah, unprompted said "Love you papaw". He's 6, and that was the very first time he's told one of us that he loved us!
He's said it repeating us.. like tell Daddy love you, he'd repeat love you, but never before has he just said it on his own.
I can not describe how wonderful it was to hear!
Micah has surprised me more and more lately. His words are easier to understand although he still has trouble with phonics.
He's doing well in school too. Science and social studies are his best, math he's pretty good at and ELA he struggles with but does pretty good overall.
When autism was first discussed I was clueless and didn't know what to expect. And still I struggle with how will it be for him after he's grown. But those fears have lessened some watching the changes over the last 4 years of helping raise him.
Anyways, just wanted to share that because it was so special to us. Especially papaw. Micah prefers mostly me to do things for him. Or his dad if I'm busy. Doug was especially touched when he said it.
