It was only a matter of time.
Before axe polishing and customizations were also suggested as being something that I might be interested in or into.
After my first 3 league days...it became apparent that I was whaling my axe pretty hard against the wooden targets.
Regularly taking right chunks out of my blade when I hit the deck screws holding the targets together.
I am currently working on not throwing my axe too hard and on controlling its rotation as it leaves my hands. My new friend (Austin) even suggested that I might want to try breathing. You know, every so often, as I am throwing.
“Breathing?” What a novel concept, I thought.
“Out of the mouths of babes. I’m fairly certain that I’m old enough to be his Mother.”
After polishing my axe head using a double ended bench polisher, (yeah, that’s what he called it) 
To start , my axe handle, met some bondo, a piece of plastic wrap and my hand.
This basically provided a framework of fibreglass the shape of my hand, from which the fibreglass could be sculpted to support my palm efficiently when I grasp my axe’s handle.
