Hello again! Today I’m bringing you another really cool post, this time featuring a new set of photos I’ve taken over the past few days, along with some thoughts I’ve been having. I’ve been feeling very reflective lately, thinking about how I’ve grown as a person, how things have gone for me in college, how I interact with my friends and classmates, and lots of other things. Things have been going really well at my job, it’s the first truly stable job I’ve had, and I’ve learned a lot, not just in my field of environmental studies, but also about how to navigate the workplace. Sometimes you start a job thinking it’s just about getting things done and that’s it, but when you work in an environment with other people who also have a goal in that same setting, you learn to communicate assertively, express your opinions in a way that’s understood and doesn’t cause conflict, and in turn, you grow as a professional. I’ve been thinking about how different I am now compared to who I was two years ago, before I started this job, and I’m really happy because I feel like I’ve changed for the better.

I’m attending college with a mindset that’s radically different from the one I had more than six years ago. I feel that even though I took my degree very seriously, I didn’t feel capable of doing many things, and that’s why I dropped out, because I felt I’d gotten very far without really understanding much. Something that actually helped me get back on track with my degree was my current job. I really realized that geography comes more easily to me, and even though I wanted to focus more on music, geography was my natural talent, so I went back to college. For the past year and a half, I’ve truly realized that I’m very good at my college major, even though it’s difficult, I’m very capable. I’m also very focused on my goal of earning my college degree. Sometimes there are difficulties with classmates, personal situations, and even natural disasters, but I keep my head up and keep going. Right now, I feel good about myself, I’m very happy. Throughout this time, I’ve been taking photos of my surroundings, and I really like them. I hope you like them, too.
