As a man I care about the safeties of the ladies in my family. Nowadays, people can take your pictures and generate deepfake with it. Just imagine someone who doesn't wear bikini, but a stranger generated it with Ai and made them wear a bikini, also posted it online, it's totally invading ones privacy. if someone wants to record themselves or take pictures of themselves, they can do it without harming others privacy. Some people doesn't mind being in the picture or video, so that is acceptable. But there are many people who does not even post their pictures online and if you are posting them online that's invading their privacy.
If someone is in the background of the picture which you have taken, you can crop them out or make it blurry before posting it online. But if you don't post it online then I think it's alright to have them. So, it totally depends how the person who took it, is using it. There a many people with bad intentions so we need to protect our privacy. When I go outside, most of the time I have seen two people or a group of people are fighting and no one is bothering to stop them. Instead, the people in the public they took out their phone and started to record the fight. See? they are not worried about someone getting hurt, they just want to record and earn views from it.
In this way, people are already losing their humanity. We should help each other not enjoy another's pain. Even if it's a public place it doesn't mean you can capture someone and post it online, I think it's fine as long you don't post it. Because sometime we go to places where is too much gatherings and we try to take picture then somehow someone gets in the background. So, let's not post everything online, I think that's the best solution. How would you like it when you were pricking your nose and someone took a picture later posted it online? It would be embarrassing right? How about you got viral overnight for pricking your nose? Would you still agree for such things?
When my daughters and wife goes out, I don't want a creep to capture them and post it online. It's truly invading ones privacy. We all have privacy and no one has the right to invade it. I understand that public places are open to everyone, but we are human beings not animals. We don't need to bite like a lion as it hunts down a deer, because the deer was in the lion's territory. I believe that people deserve respect and should not have to worry about becoming part of someone else's video or picture without their consent and knowledge.
Not everyone wants to be on social media and get viral. Not everyone is a clout chaser. Young people, specially children, are more vulnerable to online misuse and once an image is uploaded to the internet, it can never be deleted. However, I do not think making all public photography a criminal offense is the right solution. We should focus on the intention of a person. There could be some accidental cases so we should re-think about it. Instead of banning public photography, I believe it should be illegal to use someone's image to exploit, harass, defame, or profit from them without permission. There should also be stronger protections for children and vulnerable people. In my opinion, the best balance is to protect both personal privacy and creative freedom.
