It's a hypothetical question "what would I do If I woke up one day and discovered that I had won $1 million?" at first I would sit down quietly, make sure it's for real and it's not a scam. I will be honest, at my age I do not have luxurious dreams. I don't need cars or apartments for myself. Because I have already got what I needed from life and that is my lovely family. I have a beautiful wife and two wonderful daughters. I have learned that true happiness comes from family's security and peace of mind.
I have lost my father when I very young and I grew up facing struggles and quickly learned how difficult life can be when a family does not have anyone to get support, we have struggled a lot financially and only thing we could do was to pray for better days in the future. Since then I have decided that I would never let my family face that crucial moment again. So, after receiving such big amount, the first thought would come into my mind is about my wife and my two young daughters. I would want to make sure they never have to worry about financial struggles even if I am not around in the future, no matter what happens I would not want to see them in any kind of difficulties in the future.
I would buy a small house for my family where they could feel safe and secure. As like every other parents I want the best for our children's future and provide the opportunities that I never had as a child. I would keep some funds in savings so they could follow their dreams without worrying about tuition fees or expenses in the future. It would bring happiness to know that their future was secured, nothing else could give me such happiness. I would also take care of my wife, as she wanted to start a clothing business of her own. Moreover, she stood beside me through difficult times so I want to do something for her. I know money could disappear quickly so I better invest most of the money wisely. My goal would not be to become richer but to create lasting security for the people I love.
Finally, I would help the poor people. There are many beggars on the streets, I would try to provide them jobs so they can earn by their own. In addition, I would open an restaurant where poor people could buy meals for (1 taka), I think making it free will be an insult to them. For that reason I want them to buy these foods with dignity and not feel ashamed.
Winning $1 million would be like a dream come true, my life would change for a good purpose, It would give me something every husband or father wants and that is to protect his family, provide opportunities for his children and sleep peacefully knowing their future is secure.
