These birds arrive from wintering very early. At the very beginning of April, or the end of March, when the snow is just beginning to melt. And in some relatively warm regions, these birds generally winter and occasionally visit feeders.
Males immediately begin to sing their famous songs which are easily recognizable. So they mean that this territory is already occupied by them, and if anyone dares to show up here, then it will come to a fight.
During this difficult time, they feed on the seeds of trees and plants. For the most part, they search for seeds that have fallen from above, or thawed from snow.
