🦉 The Eurasian three-toed woodpecker (Picoides tridactylus)

I meet almost all species of woodpeckers in the forests all year round, some species less often, some more often. But this species of woodpecker is an exception. For some reason, they only appear in mid-autumn and winter.

As you can easily guess from the name, these zhatl have only three toes on their feet. But this does not prevent them from moving quickly through the tree. I noticed one feature, they prefer to inspect trees no higher than 2 meters. I mean that they do not rise above 2 meters, but only from below.
