🦉 The Eurasian tree sparrow (Passer montanus)
📚 Passer (lat.) sparrow
📚 montanus lat .: mōns, montis - mountain, mountain range, montanus - mountain
This is a close relative of the house sparrow familiar to us, which we are used to seeing in the courtyards of the city.
This is his wild brother, living mainly on the outskirts of cities, in villages, or outside the city.
And yet, sometimes they can be found right in the city. For example, late autumn and winter. They fly from the wild to cities in search of food, and join flocks of house sparrows.
And there are also regions where they live simply in yards, as they are used to. For example, when I go to a neighboring region every May, this type of sparrow is quite common in cities there.
