Lizards in spring 🦎

In the spring, at the end of April, when it is already warm and there is no snow (mostly), I often see something running quickly right under my feet and hiding under old leaves.

And this turns out to be these tiny lizards. If I'm not mistaken this is The viviparous lizard, or common lizard, (Zootoca vivipara, formerly Lacerta vivipara)

They come out to bask in the sun and in search of food. And it’s very difficult to catch them in the frame. Because just look at them! They literally merge with the ground.

I met these lizards in mixed forests, as well as in coniferous forests near a swamp.
