🦉 The Siberian stonechat or Asian stonechat (Saxicola maurus)

• Saxicola (lat ): saxum rock, stone, -cola inhabitant
• maurus (lat.): Moorish, black

Every year in early May, I love to visit the meadows on the outskirts of my city. I go there specifically to admire and photograph yellow wagtails and these birds. At this time, there's no dense vegetation yet, so the birds are easy to see.

These guys are always very visible, because, unlike other birds, they do not hide in the tall grass, but rather sit on the very tops of the grass and plants and observe their territory.
In the second photo, you can clearly see the difference between the male and female. The male's plumage is black and bright orange.
